The final programme is now available for the S-Lab ‘Supporting World Class Science’ conference and awards dinner at King’s College, London on 1-3 September 2014.

The conference provides a great opportunity to share experience and gain insight on ways of improving laboratory effectiveness and efficiency, and therefore freeing up more resource for actual science. It is particularly successful in building bridges between academics, technical staff, estates and others for strategic discussion of laboratory issues.

This year’s conference has almost 100 presentations – many based on short-listed award applications – covering the design of many new or refurbished research and teaching labs within the sector, best practice and opportunities for operational improvement, and innovations in the use of laboratories for teaching and research.

The 2 September agenda has content aimed at senior managers, and is followed by a private working lunch for them. S-Lab is working closely with the UUK and SFC task forces, and has agreed to provide a number of free tickets for both the conference and the awards dinner for PVCs, directors and similarly senior managers. Those wishing to attend are invited to contact s-lab@istonline.org.uk to take advantage of this offer.
